I have fished with this family at least 10 times and every trip is better than the last. If you are a real fisherman this is the place to call. The scenery alone is worth it. I have a 16 year old son who of course doesn’t talk to his dad a lot, BUT if I bring up Miguel & Marlon at any time he will talk to me for hours on end! If you catch zero fish it is still more than worth it to meet this incredible family in Mal Pais. I cannot say enough good things about them.

We go to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa a few times a year and we always go fishing with Mincho. He knows exactly what he’s doing and we always catch fish. Mincho speaks excellent English which helps a lot. We catch tuna, sail fish, dorado, amber jack and a few other types of fish. I would definitely recommend mincho to anyone who likes to fish or who just wants to see the area!

Amazing day on the water with Miquel +506-8899-3309 (english&spanish) and his brother Marlin. They run a first class boat with plenty of space for four. The boat we had was a 28' foot with twin 200 HP engines and outriggers for four lines, plus three more flashes lines out. Caught a marlin, swirdfish and dorado.

What a wonderful experience! First time deep sea fishing and catched 5 mahi mahi. Missed 2 times the sailfish so we will come back :). The boot is great and the captain also. They tried so hard to catch a lot of fish. We went like 30 Miles out of the coast. Really worth the money.

I contacted Costa Rican Tropical Tours by email prior to our trip and Miguel was quick to respond and gave us all the information we needed. We booked a 4 hour fishing trip for 2 couples and found that the price was more than fair. Miguel was a fantastic captain and got us on the fish right away! After we returned to shore, he cleaned the fish for us and even made some fresh Sashimi for us to eat as he cleaned the rest. We went home with enough fish for 2 dinners. I highly recommend that if you’re looking to book a fishing trip or any of the other excursion, go with Costa Rican Tropical Tours! Local, third generation family business.

Miguel and the team at Costa Rican Tropical Tours gave my wife and I an amazing inshore fishing experience! My wife had never been on a vessel smaller than a ferry and was nervous about going out, but was quickly at ease once we left shore and saw how professional and knowledgeable our captain was. We were instantly put onto some Tuna and are now enjoying some fresh sushi from our day on the water after they cleaned our catches. Amazing time, we hope to be fortunate enough to come back and get to fish with these guys again!

Miguel & Marlon were awesome - we went out for 6 hours targeting Rooster fish & could not have had a better day. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and set us up in some great spots. We closed out the day with 3 Rooster & 7 yellowfin - Miguel was kind enough to clean the tuna for us to bring home for dinner that night. We had a wonderful time with Costa Rican Tropical Tours. Our first day we went inshore fishing and caught grouper, tilefish, bonito, and others. On our second day we did a full day offshore and caught 4 sailfish and 2 dorado! Everything was excellent and I highly recommend you go with these guys for your Costa Rican fishing adventure.

Experience was wonderful with Mincho!! Spent a few hours out on his great boat. He was very good with giving us instructions and teaching us how to do everything. The ride was amazing and so beautiful. Ended the day with 5 yellowtail tuna that we took back and had for dinner!! Definitely recommend. We even saw dolphins and whales!!!

Miguel is an awesome guide. As a 3rd generation fisherman he knows where to take you. Our first line went in and within a minute we got a bite which turned out to be our first catch. He cleaned the fish and made us some sashimi from the tuna we caught. Highly recommended.
